The film wasn't a stand out just because of the vivid animation, but because the film had a wonderful storyline packed with superb characters and a sense of humor. The film's achievement assured that there would be more sequels.

The film is currently in production and Steve Martino of Horton Hears A Who! and Mike Thurmeier of Ice age 3 are directing the movie. Ice Age: Continental Drift is set for release in theaters on July 13, 2012.
