I read the book “The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks” first which was wonderful. Then later I watched it with low expectations. For the most part the film had some similarities to the novel but the it gave a bit more that the show didn't provide. I understand that two hours is simply not enough time to include all the events that happen in the novel. In my opinion, you will be surprised when you read it after watching the movie.
On the note of the actors, Greg Kinnear as Steve father, Bobby Coleman as Jonah Miller and Liam Hemsworth as Will Blakelee were done a heartfelt performance in their roles. I think Miley Cyrus done a great job as well. Considering the funny Hannah Montana acting she has been doing since she was twelve years old this was a good first step for her. The chemistry between Cyrus and Liam was wonderful and couldn’t go any deeper, and the rest of the cast done a great job too.I also have to say I was very impressed that they didn't try to beat the audience over the head with Miley Cyrus’ songs in the soundtrack. It had remarkable tracks all the way through and ended with one really strong Cyrus’ single that I actually liked!

Overall, it was a very touching film and excellent for the whole family as it had simply a bit of everything. The lessons taught from the story can help heal families that are separated and bring them together.
