Indie Pop singer and songwriter Ingrid Michaelson with her extra ordinary voice, manages to produce yet another studio album titled “Human Again”. It is a follow-up to her previous album Everybody (2009). The first single from the album titled GHOST was released as a promotional single on November 15, 2011. It is an enjoyable lighthearted song, starting out with a memorable line “Do you remember when the walls fell” and developing into an amazingly moving and complex harmonized vocal; the "girl" Ingrid has the "voice" to carry such simple lyrics to a "unique" level. This is an interesting new direction for her.
Her music is immersed by a poetic tension, and the lyricism is always elegant and natural. Her voice is like Regina Spektor without the grit, and is as mellow as Bjork without the shrill of madness. Her music lead a touted dalliance that renders these age old subjects of love, love unanswered, and broken hearts, an emotional cadence that deceives a wittiness and teases the listener by telling the conscience of the music with a dash of brio, sufficient to show self-pity as both hateful and caring. This is best showed in her new single “GHOST”.
Human Again album contains fifteen brand new songs, all of them are written and composed by Ingrid, and it is slated for release on January 24, 2012 through Cabin 24 records.
