Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is bringing Zoe Saldana’s thriller film Colombiana to DVD and Blu ray on December 20, 2011. The standard edition DVD will retail for $30.99 SRP while single disc Blu-ray will retail for $ 35.99. The home video releases will contain extra features such as "Assassins" (BD), "Training a Killer" (BD), "Take the Ride" (BD), "Colombiana: The Making of" and "Cateleya's Journey".

Colombiana was directed by the French director Olivier Megaton who also directed Hollywood movies such as The Red Siren and Transporter 3, and the screenplay was written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. The film follows a young girl named Cataleya Restrepo (played by Zoe Saldana) who is determined to become an assassin after seen her parent’s (played by Jesse Borrego and Cynthia Addai-Robinson) murdered by a local mob boss Don Luis (played by Beto Benites), she escaped from murderers and found her way to her uncle Emilio (played by Cliff Curtis) in Chicago. Emilio is a Hitman who trained Restrepo to be a serial killer. She started to work for him while spending most of her personal time looking for murderers who are responsible for the death of her parents.
Zoe Saldana and the rest of the cast are brilliant and often give excellent performances. The action scenes are entertaining, if too clean and in the end a bit rambling. This one could not be considered as one of Olivier Megaton’s best movies, but it is entertaining enough to hold your interest.
