If you are a fan of the Twilight movie series, then you will defiantly be looking forward to get your hands on the next film in the Twilight collection. Breaking Dawn - Part 1 DVD and Blu-ray will be available for purchase on February 10, 2012, just in time for Valentine's Day shopping. When the original movie Twilight was released on home video in 2009, it was sold over 3 million units in its first day, making over 180 million dollars in home video sales, and Twilight sequels New Moon and Eclipse were performed even better in DVD/Blu-ray sales. The producers of Twilight Saga film series are hoping Breaking Dawn - Part 1 will generate at least the same as the original movie, if not more. Now that the time is drawing closer for the Breaking Dawn Part 1 DVD and Blu-ray release, will it manage to set a new record for the series?
The hype surrounding this franchise is based on the highly successful Stephenie Meyer’s first book “Twilight”. Additional installments followed the pattern as the readers were eager for new adventures of their beloved characters, Bella, Edward and Jacob. As the film adaptations were released, fans were delighted by an opportunity to see the story in the big screen. The producers wanted to take Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final entry in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight book series in a slightly different direction than the first three movies, so they hired Bill Condon to direct it, and split the story into two movies to maximize the marketing effect.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 continues the trend of a series of films that you all know and love. The film has grossed over $650 million since its release date, November 18, 2011. It has an intensity that differs from the previous installments. And like HP, fans probably keen for the next and final installment “Breaking Dawn - Part 2”, which is scheduled for release on November 16, 2012.
Breaking Dawn Part 1 DVD and Blu-ray releases will contain special features such as Wedding Video, 6-Part Making Of featurette, Edward Fast Forward and Jacob Fast Forward, Jacob's Destiny and Audio Commentary by director Bill Condon. The DVD (two disc special edition) will sell for $30.49 SRP, while the Blu-ray Special Edition will be available for $33.99 SRP.
