Hugo 3D was one of 2011's best films, if not the best. This mind twisting film from the best cinematic mind-bender in the industry, Martin Scorsese, earned his third Golden Globe Award for Best Director. The film has also been nominated for several Academy Awards. With its engaging adventure and flawless story line, Hugo 3D is sure to be one of the most critically acclaimed film of 2011. Most people who watched the movie in theater and walked out of the hall often stated the desire to see it again. Hugo 3D affirms repeated viewing to make sense of all the visual cues, the smallest information and nuances of character and plot development.
The story depicts the life of a young orphaned boy named Hugo Cabret (played by Asa Butterfield) who lives within the walls of a Paris railway station by himself. He spends most of his time maintaining clocks in the station, stealing food and repairing a machine that his deceased father (played by Jude Law) once discovered at a museum. He also steals spare parts from a toy store run by Papa Georges (played by Ben Kingsley), to repair the machine, but one day he gets caught. As punishment, Papa takes a book that Hugo uses as information for fixing his machine. That book is one of the only items that he has owned as a remembrance of his father and he wants it for that reason as well. Knowing that he have to take that back to complete what he and his father began, he follows Papa and bumps into his god-daughter named Isabelle (played by Chloe Grace Moretz) who ends up supporting him pursue his desire of fixing the machine.
Hugo 3D will be released on DVD, BluRay, BluRay 3D and Digital Copy (combo pack) on February 28, 2012. Each release will comprise an UltraViolet (UV) Cloud streaming copy of the film, and also feature bonus content such as The Cinemagician, Georges Melies, Shoot the Moon (The Making of Hugo), The Mechanical Man at the Heart of Hugo and more.
