Many people have care for their love ones. That affection to them can be tested occasionally, when a few of them make things complicated by putting themselves in awful mess. As a result of this, you might sense the necessity to intervene when their own silliness causes these troubles, although you know it is not a better idea. That is mainly the situation Chris Farraday (played by Mark Wahlberg) is faced in this action thriller movie.
In Contraband, when Farraday’s brother-in-law Andy’s (played by Caleb Landry Jones) drug deal with the smuggler Tim Briggs (played by Giovanni Ribisi) goes wrong, Farraday is plunged into his previous smuggling work once again. To defend his family he has to execute one last mission, he hires his old partner Sebastian Abney (played by Ben Foster) and they formulate a plan that will get them back into the business as they struggle to steer Farraday and his family away from threat.
In a way, this was not your typical action flick. Although it had a great deal of action scenes, it didn't have to the extent that I thought it would and it was swift and violent, but the film relied on more than that. It had many twists and turns in its plotline that held your interest. A majority of these twists were important to the flick, added tension and consistently sent it in different directions.
Apart from the action and plot holes, the acting was one of the most essential parts of the film. Almost all of the cast members were outstanding and they brought uniqueness and emotion to their characters.
Contraband is an action thriller that wanted to entertain the viewers. The script was not that good and the flick was nowhere near as bad, however it was just an overall fun film to watch.
Now, you can watch Contraband in the comfort of your own living room when it’s out on DVD, Blu-ray, Digital Download and On-Demand on April 24, 2012.
