Singer, songwriter and actress Keyshia Cole entered into the music industry with a slew of other talented female R&B artists. The chances appeared to be against her when the Kanye West featured first song from her debut album “The Way It Is”, didn’t make much of an impact. But that album became a surprise success, selling over 1.5 million units worldwide and being certified platinum. Ever since she hit that album she has been compared to Mary J. Blige, due to her vocal styling and subject matter. I remember the first time I heard the opening track on that record ` (I Just Want It) To Be Over' and I just fell head over heals for this astoundingly gifted artist. Her voice was so exceptional and so emotionally invested. That quality has not left her, not the least bit. It's the one aspect to me that set her apart from other R&B singers in the music industry. She used the same winning formula for her next three albums, and her proficiency was unable to be looked over. She has compassion and that comes through in every word she sings. I have been hearing a lot about soul recently, and how it's that soul that can build or destroy you in any sort of work you chose to carry out. If your listeners can't believe you then you won't make it, regardless of how hard you try or how artistic you really are. Keyshia Cole has that soul.
Keyshia Cole is currently working on her fifth studio album titled “Woman to Woman” set for release in the second quarter of 2012. It will feature guest artists such as Drake, Trey Songz, Ashanti, Busta Rhymes and Meek Mill. “Woman to Woman” will also include songs like Can't Make You Love Me and Woman to Woman.
