According to the Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has acquired the film rights to bring Lee Falk’s most famous comic “Mandrake the Magician” to the big screen. Over the past years, several studios have been trying to bring this story to the silver screen, but with less success. Columbia Pictures did a series in 1939, and a Television Show was created in the 70s. But other than that, it has been collecting dust. Warner Bros. is currently searching for a screenwriter to pen the script. Mandrake the Magician film probably hit theaters in the fall 2013.
The story follows Mandrake and his twin brother Derek who take a trip to a place in a Tibetan mountain where they study to perform magic plus build up strong mental powers.
