A whole new bunch of fans have been introduced to the work of Stephanie Meyer through the film adaptation of her best selling book series Twilight. The movie franchise proven to be a massive hit with younger audiences as well as long-time fans of the book series, and now the hunt is on for film adaptation of her another book ‘THE HOST'. It is her first venture into the adult world, runs on a very different concept from her Twilight series. But still has plenty of action, adventure and romance to keep any Twilight fan happy.
Andrew Niccol is attached to direct the film adaptation of “THE HOST” based on his own script. Saoirse Ronan will play the lead role of Melanie Stryder and Max Irons as Jared Howe, Stryder’s love interest. “THE HOST” is currently filming in Louisiana and New Mexico for an expected release date of March 29, 2013. The film will be distributed by Open Road Films.
The story set on Earth after alien (known as "Souls") attack. These aliens need a host to live in to survive. Wanderer is one of the Souls who has been entered in Melanie Stryder's (played by Saoirse Ronan) body. And while Wanderer is delighted to experience earth for the first time, it's with great dismay that she realizes Stryder hasn't evacuated the body-- she's still inside, and doesn’t want to leave. Beset by Stryder's memories and her desperation to find her love ones, who are hidden somewhere out in the wasteland. Wanderer finds herself also wants to see these people--especially Jared, the love of Stryder's life.
