J.J. Abrams’ Sci-fi thriller Alcatraz: the complete Series, all 13 episodes, is finally heading to DVD and Bluray on October 16, 2012. The DVD will cost $39.98 (SRP) while the Bluray will run at $49.99 (SRP). Both discs will contain extra materials Such as The Allure of Alcatraz (featurette), Deleted Scenes and Gag Reel.
It was originally aired on Fox as a mid-season replacement. The story is built around the remarkable premise that the 1963 closure of the infamous federal prison was a cover story for the unforeseen disappearance of the prisoners and their guards. San Francisco police officer Rebecca caught up in the mystery when her partner is murdered by a person who is supposed to be deceased, one of the missing "63's". Rebecca is hired into a special task force run by FBI officer Emerson, before an Alcatraz guard and now in the hunt for the former prisoner as they re-emerge in modern-day San Francisco to restart their illegal activates.
The series will be presented on Blu-ray in 1.78:1 aspect ratio with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and the DVD will feature an anamorphic widescreen with 5.1 Dolby Digital audio.
I'm bummed by the word "complete" in this post. I really liked that series. :(
