The creators of Insidious teamed up once again on the follow-up after its huge success at the box office last year. Ty Simpkins, Lin Shaye, Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne will all return to reprise their roles from the previous movie. Once again, James Wan will direct the movie based on a script by Leigh Whannell, and Blumhouse Productions will produce it.
The original movie does a great job of keeping the audience glued to the screen. It is surprisingly eerie and although it stole from other movies like Poltergeist and the Exorcist it still was put together quite well. Not many horror flicks that I've watched have shown what a demons layer looks like nor have I had so many ghost and evil beings fright me to the extent that the original film was able to provoke. It is terrific, thrilling, and scary and with a one and a half million dollar budget it still managed to fright me and most likely a lot of other people as well, hopefully the “INSIDIOUS 2” can hold up to the high standard the original movie created.
Insidious 2 is scheduled for release on August 30, 2013.
