Life Of Pi on DVD/3D BD with bonus features, extras, review

The film "Life of Pi" is based on a book of the same name by Yann Martell. Directed by Ang Lee based on a screenplay by David Magee. The film stars Suraj Sharma as Piscine Molitor "Pi" Patel (age 16), Irrfan Khan as "Pi (adult), Tabu as Gita Patel, Pi's mother and Adil Hussain as Pi's father.

The story in both the book and film centers on the life of Pi, a young boy from India, whose father owns a zoo. As a result of the political conflict in India at that time, the Pi’s family decides to move to Canada with animals. Sadly, disaster strikes during their crossing and the ship carrying Pi’s family and the animals sink, leaving Pi trapped on a lifeboat along with a zebra, orangutan and a Bengal tiger.

Ang has filmed this flick in 3D, and if your TV is 3D ready, then Life of Pi should be a good chance to use it. Life of Pi is one of the most remarkable 3D movies since AVATAR. The visual effects are amazing and capture the marine life flawlessly with all its beautiful colors. In fact, the entire film sparkles in a way that makes a heightened reality. There's no doubt that from a technical point of view, Life Of Pi is one of the best 3D movies I have seen lately.
