Frank Miller's "Sin City" graphic novel published in 1991 wowed readers when it was initially published from Dark Horse Comics. The stories were gathered in trade paperbacks with several graphic novels that tell the story of Basin City aka "Sin City" and its people. Famous for it's use of primary colors of white, red and black, the graphic novel would win many readers over for its dark and fierce tenor but storytelling created by Frank Miller known for his remarkable work on the "Batman" and "Daredevil: The Man Without Fear" comic books.
In 2005, Robert Rodriguez, an enthusiast of the graphic novels wanted to bring “Sin City” to the big screen but if only Miller involved. Following seeing demo tape by Frank Miller, it was sufficient to convince the creator to become co-director of the movie and in the end, earned nearly $160 million worldwide in theater receipts.
Sequel rumors circulated for a while, prior to a follow-up film finally went into pre-production last year. Rodriguez and Miller, back as co-directors, gave the film an official title: Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. Soon afterwards, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, and Jaime King all signed up to reprise their roles from the first film. Other new additions to the cast include Josh Brolin, Dennis Haysbert and Jamie Chung.
During an interview with MTV, Rodriguez revealed that Bruce Willis will also be reprising his role as John Hartigan in the sequel.
The film is currently shooting in Austin, and will open in cinemas on October 4, 2013.
