"Skyfall" is the 23rd film in the Bond franchise and the 3rd movie to star Daniel Craig as James Bond. The film was directed by Sam Mendes who was initially approached with the idea of directing the “Skyfall” following the release of previous film." However, the production was not commenced until the end of 2010 due to financial problems experienced by MGM. The screenplay was written by John Logan, Robert Wade and Neal Purvis with the addition of original ideas from Peter Morgan.
The release of this movie was planned to coincide with the quarter-century anniversary of the release of the first 007 film. The latest installment of the bond series has not only managed to surpass its own series records but has also achieved the biggest November opening for a movie not related to the "HP" or "Twilight" series. Consequently, it has turned into one of the biggest grossing films on its first weekend ever, and has become the fourteenth film to cross the $1 billion mark worldwide.
Though the storyline is a bit cheesy, it still is 007's story. It follows Bond who is on a mission with Eve (Naomie Harris). When things take a dark turn, he gets himself shot. MI6 sadly reveals that Bond is missing. Not long after the publication, a blast rocks MI6, which brings Bond back from the dead to assist M look over and find who is behind this.
