When you are basically vitalizing a genre of music from certain death while bringing your own fine touches and original melodies, you are supposed to do great things over and over again. Rock bands of the past two-decade, such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails and Green Day have done so, excluding a bump in the road here and there. Fall Out Boy (FOB) has been the upheaval to pop-punk that has steadily simmer with the declining recognition in group like Mest. Their songs have good hooks, haunting melodies, smart lyrics, and you can't disagree with the fact that the lead vocalist, Patrick Stump, has a great vocal range.
After a long hiatus since their last album Folie à Deux (2008), FOB has reunited for a new album and world tour. Save Rock and Roll will be their new album set for release on April 15, 2013 through Island records. The band released “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)” as the lead single from the album. The track debuted # 26 and No. 8 on US Rock Songs charts.
FOB will hit the road for “Save Rock and Roll” tour in support of their new album. The tour will commence on May 14, 2013 at The Rave in Milwaukee, WI and will wrap up on June 30, 2013 at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. FOB have also been confirmed to play several live shows.
