The Smashing Pumpkins to tour (2013) NA/EU, play list

The Smashing Pumpkins have been through a great deal in their two-decade career. In the early 90’s, they dropped their first album "Gish" subsequently they released their major label breakthrough record "Siamese Dream". 2 years later, they dropped what came to be their now-classic record "Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness", a record where they would experience career highs and lows.

With their 3rd record developing into very successful and almost every song being a hit, they couldn't control their inner turmoil for instance their touring keyboardist Jonathan Melvoin passed away due to drug overdose and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin being removed from the group after that. Their fourth album, "Adore" saw them release the most tedious recording of their career. With a few session musicians utilized for the record, Jimmy's playing was truly missed. By the time they dropped their fifth album, they reunited with Jimmy, but by then the group imploded. So, Billy and Jimmy formed the short-lived Zwan with bassist Paz Lenchantin on their first and only record "Mary Star Of The Sea". After the disbanding of Zwan, Billy dropped his first solo record "TheFutureEmbrace ". When Billy revealed he was reforming the Smashing Pumpkins, feelings about the reunion were mixed. It was a reunion, but with only two of the original members. Billy and Jimmy went in to record their seventh studio album "Zeitgeist". In 2009, Jimmy decided to leave the group and Billy, the founder and only remaining original member of Smashing Pumpkins, decided to continue with the band. Since then, they have released two more albums; Teargarden by Kaleidyscope in 2009 on Martha's Music / Rocket Science and Oceania in 2012 on EMI/Caroline Distribution/Martha's Music. Both albums peaked at number four on the Billboard 200.
