“Copper” will be back for a 2nd season with big names such as Donal Logue, Eamonn Walker, Lee Tergesen and Andrew Howard on-board. Now comes word that the True Blood star Alfre Woodard will be guest starring on BBC America's upcoming show “Copper: Season 2” as Hattie Lemaster, a former slave recently arrived to the Five Points area to start a new life.
It is created by Tom Fontana, Will Rokos and executive produced by Barry Levinson. The story is set in the `Five Points' district of NYC in the 19th century. The main characters are a district’s police officer, Corcoran, recently returned from the war whose wife strangely disappeared and his daughter has been murdered while he was in the battle; his rich friend and ex-commanding officer who lives in upper class NY; and a doctor who is a friend of the police officer and who once saved his rich friend's life during the war by amputating his shattered leg.
The story revolves around Corcoran’s relentless search for information about his missing family while inspecting other crimes, such as the kill of a kid, which his superior would prefer to conceal because the murderer is a politically-connected member of NY's upper class.
Copper second season is set premiere on BBC America on Sunday, June 23, 2013.
