Ellie Goulding topped the UK Singles Chart for the first time with her new song "Burn" which sold 117,000 copies last week, 40,000 more than the second "Wake Me Up (Feat. Aloe Blacc) ." The singer thanked everyone who bought the single.
Miley Cyrus’ "We Can not Stop" was on top last week that dropped to third place and "Summertime Sadness", collaboration between Lana Del Rey and DJ Cedric Gervais remained in the fourth position. "Applause" by Lady Gaga completed the top 5.
It's good to remember that the low ranking of Lady Gaga’s song may due to its early release, after it leaked online. Because of that she had at least two and a half days less sales than the other tracks on the chart, but still she managed to sell 38 thousand copies. So hopefully it'll do much better in the chart next week.
Albums
The album chart had fewer changes. The duo, Richard & Adam, remained the third consecutive week at the top. "Home" Rudimental climbed from seventh to second place and "Night Visions" from Imagine Dragons remained in third place.
The biggest surprise was to see "Big TV" from White Lies reached in the fourth place, Fifth place went to "All The Little Lights "the Passenger, which dropped one position from last week.
