Katy Perry joins Kanye West and Lady Gaga for the VMAs 2013 music awards lineup.
Katy Perry will go up on stage at the event to debut her new single "Roar", which will feature on her upcoming album "Prism". The show will mark her first appearance as musical attraction at the event since 2009, when she did a cover of Queen.
Kanye West and Lady Gaga are already confirmed for the VMAs 2013 lineup. Gaga returns to the stage after a break of nearly seven months due to her hip surgery. Like Perry, the pop star will make her live debut song "Applause".
The 2013 Video Music Awards will air on August 25, 2013 Live at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

After the announcement of Katy Perry as one of the musical acts, MTV has released a new promotional video for the 2013 VMAs.
In video, the pop star appears inside the culvert and joins a group of people moving on the street. A tiger also appears in the video representing the single "Roar."
