Aretha Franklin will receive honors during the "BET Honors 2014" event, which pays tribute to African-American personalities for their achievements.
Mariah Carey, Janelle Monae, Jennifer Hudson, Tamar Braxton and Smokey Robinson will be performing live at the ceremony, which will feature Ludacris on collection of tributes.
The legendary founder of Motown Records, Berry Gordy, and Ice Cube also receive tribute at the event, which will air on U.S. television on 24 February.
