Neil Young announces end of 36-year of marriage

One of the most enduring marriages ever seen in the music industry came to an end. Neil Young is divorcing Pegi Young after 36 years together.

Pegi used to do vocals at concerts of her husband and launched as a solo artist in 2007 - she has recorded three albums. She also founded The Bridge School.

This educational program assists children with severe physical problems and language - Neil and Pegi have a son with cerebral palsy. Every year a big concert is organized to raise funds for the organization.

Pegi and Neil Young were scheduled to perform at Farm Aid - the charity festival organized by Willie Nelson on behalf of American farmers in financial trouble - on September 13. Neil's performance is retained, but Pegi was excluded from the line up. It is unclear what led to the separation of the couple after many years of marriage.
