In Persona 5, reading books allow time to pass, improve your social talents and sometimes it is the only thing that you can do in a situation. So during the Early Morning phase you sometimes have the opportunity to read books when you go to school on the train.
If you manage to find and read all the books in Persona 5, you will be rewarded with the Bookworm Trophy.
