Besmirched Walkthrough, Find Silver Cross KC Deliverance

This guide updates the Besmirched quest walkthrough to reflect current gameplay mechanics in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Starting the Quest:

Begin by speaking to Andrew, the innkeeper located north of Ledetchko and Neuhof. He's the same Andrew from the Masquerade side quest with Fritz and Matthew. After the masquerade, talk to him, and he’ll ask you to retrieve his stolen goods.

Finding Adam:

The quest marker for finding Adam is broad. Instead of blindly searching Rattay, head to the inn near the east gate. Adam is usually found there during the day. Alternatively, you can ask beggars in the Rattay slums for his location.

Gathering Information:

Speak to Adam about the robbery. He'll mention a "sooty face" and, crucially, a silver cross that's very important to him.

Returning to Andrew and Finding Tonchek:

Return to Andrew and tell him about the cross. He’ll mention someone from Rovna trying to sell it. With a sufficient Speech skill, you can persuade Andrew to reveal more, leading you to the charcoal-burner Tonchek.

Dealing with Tonchek:

Travel to the charcoal burners' camp (marked on your map). While some charcoal burners might try to intimidate or deceive you, you need to find Tonchek.

• Persuasion: If you successfully persuade Tonchek, he'll give you some of the stolen items he has on him.
• Fistfight (Alternative): If you choose to fight Tonchek, defeating him will lead him to reveal the location of the remaining loot.

Finding the Stolen Goods (Without Fighting):

Regardless of how you get the information from Tonchek, the loot is located north of his hut. Look for a fallen tree; the stolen goods are at its roots. However, the silver cross will NOT be among these items.

Acquiring the Silver Cross:

This is the key difference from older guides. Andrew has already purchased the cross from Tonchek. You have two options to obtain it:

1. Purchase: You can buy the cross directly from Andrew for approximately 150 Groschen. This is the fastest and often easiest method.
2. Steal: You can attempt to steal the cross from Andrew's cellar. This requires a high Lockpicking skill (especially for the chest's "very hard" lock). The chest is located in the same cellar where you presented your costume during the Masquerade quest.

Completing the Quest (Two Options):

• Returning the Loot to Andrew: If you return the other stolen goods to Andrew without having given the cross to Adam, you will receive a larger reward (around 575 Groschen). However, Adam will not get his cross.
• Returning the Loot and Cross to Adam: If you have acquired the silver cross (either by buying or stealing it), you can give it to Adam along with the other stolen goods. He will be extremely grateful and offer you a reward of 200 Groschen, which you can choose to accept or decline. This path provides a more morally satisfying conclusion.

Important Note: It is crucial to obtain the silver cross before turning in the other stolen goods if you intend to give it to Adam. Once you complete the quest by giving the other items to either Andrew or Adam, you lose the opportunity to give Adam the cross.
