Pros and Cons of Stealing Items in Zelda Link's Awakening

In The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (TLoZ:LA), you have the option to steal items from the store and save your hard earned money.

To steal an item in TLoZ:LA: you simply go to the store and grab the item you want then instead of going to the cashier or the store owner, you run around him. He will follow you. Go around him a couple of times and then you can go out from the door.

Stealing in TLoZ:LA has its advantages. For one, you get some costly items a little earlier. After all, you don’t need to farm rupees anymore. The store offers some expensive items such as the shovel RS 200, the bow RS 980 and the heart box SR 200. As you progress through the game, you still get some chamber stones for the Dungeon Creator, which go into the thousands. It is easier to get some new stones over the Zelda amiibos.

The negative consequences of stealing items in TLoZ:LA: If you enter the store again after stealing, then you'll be penalized under order of death. As soon as the game ends the screen lights up, you can click on "Continue playing" and you're off again. Also you name will be permanently changed to THIEF.

However, the good thing is that you can keep all the stolen items.
