The latest DLC Crown Tundra for Pokémon Sword & Shield brings back the old Reggie puzzles from Pokémon Ruby Sapphire and Emerald granted in a slightly more basic form. However, if you don’t know what to do exactly they leave you stumped for a little while? The Crown Tundra also introduced two brand new Reggie forms in the way of Regieleki and Regidrago. In this guide, we’ll show you how to get them before you’re able to catch one of Regieleki or Regidrago.
First, you need to capture Regirock, Rigigigas and Registeel. Registeal is the first Regi cave you’re likely to stumble upon located just outside of Freezington and requires you to whistle directly outside the door for the door to open up.
Once inside, simply light up every light and you will be interact with the stone at the back of the room. It is worth noting that you’re able to shining of these, so if you want a softly set for their shiny variant you’re fortunately able to do so.
So next, you’re likely to stumble upon Regice though it’s a little bit more out of the way on the snow side slope. On the way to this cave make sure to capture Cryogonal and put it at the lead of your party and enable it to follow you as you need one more walking with you to get in. Once inside you’re able to remove it from your party. You just need it for entrance into the cave.
Finally, there is Regirock located in the Giant’s bed region and you’ll be required to give your leading Pokemon in Everstone. So I gave my Cinderace one.
All three of these seem to have a low capture rate through I could have just been with my dust balls.
Finally, once you’ve caught all three of these there is Regieleki and Regidrago. Unfortunately, you’re able to capture one of these two per save. So you’ll require a second save to capture the other. Luckily, that’s a bit easier with the Switch’s user system. The cave corresponding to these Pokemon is located in three-point pass and requires all three of the Regis to be captured. And in your party to allow entry the pattern you have to make is corresponding to the Regi that you want to encounter. So make this pattern if you want to encounter Regieleki and make this pattern if you want to encounter Regidrago. Once you interact with the stone in the back of the room you won’t be able to change your choice it’ll lock it. So pick wisely Regidrago is easily the weakest of the two. Both have absolutely trash defenses and are incapable of taking hits but Regidrago is so slow you’ll never be able to get a hit. My recommendation is definitely Regieleki. Again it’s possible to shiny hunt these. So you can be among the first in the world to have legit Shinies of these. If you decide to hunt them unfortunately there isn’t a cave corresponding to Rigigigas.
In the Crown Tundra, it looks like unfortunately that’s left for Dynamax adventures for you to be able to actually capture one of those would have been cool if there was a method similar to the one seen in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to capture it but alas unfortunately no.
