If you've been following the Galaxy Note 21 news then you'll have heard time and time again rumors suggesting the future stylus-equipped Samsung phone isn't going to happen, likely due to the Galaxy S21 Ultra now getting the stylus compatibility.
You might have also heard that the rumors aren't true, Samsung
is still committed to the Galaxy Note lineup and there will be a Galaxy Note in
the second half of this year.
A lot of you have been asking constantly whether should you wait for the Galaxy Note 21 Ultra or should I get the S21 Ultra instead. To which there's no simple yes or no answer because we still aren't sure whether or not there will be a proper Galaxy Note 21 this year. According to the last time we heard about the Galaxy Note 21, Samsung didn't even mention the Galaxy Note when talking about their premium smartphone lineup in 2021. While addressing the market demand for their phone, they said they will strengthen it with the Galaxy S21 lineup and the foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip. There's no mention of the Galaxy Note which pretty much confirms there's not going to be a premium Galaxy Note 21 this year. This however, leaves space open for the rumors we've been hearing that instead of the Galaxy Note 21 they will launch the Galaxy Note 20 Fan Edition which isn't going to be a proper top of the line Galaxy Note but instead a stripped-down version of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, aka, a Lite Edition.
So if you're confused about whether you should wait for the top of the line like Galaxy Note 21 Ultra or thinking about getting the S21 Ultra instead, I think it makes more sense to just get the S21 Ultra instead because even if they decide to launch the Note 21 Ultra, I'm sure there's not going to be any difference between the two apart from the design and a built-in S Pen. At this point, I think Samsung is running out of ideas to differentiate the Galaxy S and Note, and that may be the biggest reason why they are considering ending the Galaxy Note.
So in my opinion, if you're stuck between the S21 Ultra and Note 21 Ultra then you should just choose the former because I don't think they are going to launch the Note 21 Ultra at this point. If they were going to do it, they would have made it clear by now.
Samsung’s development efforts that would have normally been
focused on the Galaxy Note series have now been refocused on the foldable lineup
especially the Galaxy Z Fold 3 which will have a built-in S Pen support, unlike
the S21 Ultra.
Today we have some more updates on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. According to SamMobile, the Z Fold 3 will have a model number SM-F926 and the base storage is going to be 256GB. The Z Flip 3 however, will be available in 128GB and 256GB options. Both will run Android 11 out of the box with One UI 3.5 out of the box. Since both of these handsets will have One UI 3.5, don't expect the Z Flip 3 to launch in the first quarter as previously rumored. It's more likely Samsung will launch both the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 at the same time in the second half of the year probably in July.
Let me know what do you think about this down in the comments.
