In this article, we’ll share some of the best / outstanding features that Samsung has added to their latest flagship phone Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the latest handset isn't a typical annual refresh. The improvements in performance and battery life are huge this time. It is about 40% more efficiency which will make the S23 Ultra, almost as efficient as the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
But the enhancements in GPU are even better which comfortably puts it above the iPhone 14 Pro Max in gaming while consuming less power at the same time which is amazing.
The next big outstanding feature is the camera. Specifically, the new 200MP sensor that retains tons of details even after you zoom in 50 to 80 times. Samsung has specifically focused on night photography this time and the difference compared to its predecessor is massive. Even its close competitor the Pixel 7 Pro cannot come close to the S23 Ultra in terms of details, color retention, and brightness.
The S23 Ultra easily has the best night photography camera we have ever seen on any phone so far.
Samsung has also upgraded the selfie camera. Yes, they went down from 40MP to 12MP but at the same time, they went up in quality.
As you can see, there's a huge difference in quality compared to the latest from Google.
And not just in broad daylight but at night time as well.
Samsung has upgraded the storage and RAM this time which are not only twice as fast but also almost 50% more efficient than last time. This basically means this new storage solution as well as the new RAM will improve the speed at which your phone launches apps and saves files to your storage while consuming almost 50% less power thereby increasing the battery life.
The latest Gorilla Glass Victus 2 has the same scratch resistance as last year but the shatter resistance has almost been doubled. So there's a high chance that the S23 Ultra will survive if you accidentally drop, it doesn't matter if it's asphalt or concrete.
With the S23 Ultra, you can now capture the motion of the night sky thanks to Astro night hyper-lapse.
It takes a series of long-exposure photos and combines them together to create a time-lapse which can be used to capture the movement of the stars and capture stunning views of the night sky.
Samsung took the 8K video recording even further with the S23 Ultra. Not only they have increased the fps from 24 to 30 for smoother playback but they have also made sure the 8K recording doesn't crop in much, so that you can capture more of the scene.
Samsung has also improved the portrait video aka the cinematic video which blurs the background in a video.
They have bumped up the resolution from 1080p to 4K to make it much more useful.
They did the same thing with the super steady video as well increasing the resolution from 1080p to 1440p aka 2K resolution which would surely make more people use this feature.
The S23 Ultra also features Wifi 7. The benefits are the speed. It's more than double the speed of its predecessor. It offers a better wifi range, there's interference and it's more energy efficient which further improves battery life. The catch is, you need wifi 7 router to take advantage of the feature.
All in all, the S23 Ultra is the biggest upgrade we've seen in recent times in terms of performance, battery life and camera.
