A new character called Mateo is making his Pokémon Go Universe debut for the first time since June 2022.
Mateo is a new roaming personality that is being introduced along with a brand-new feature and event. The Along The Routes event is happening from Tuesday, December 5th at 10:00 a.m. to Friday December 8th at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Now, where do you find this new Mateo character:
Step one: Mateo will be waiting for you with some gifts he's collected as you get closer to the destination of a route.
Step two: Speak with Mateo to start exchanging gifts.
Step three: Select one of Mateo's gifts to exchange from the route's start point, endpoint, or a nearby PokéStop.
Step four: Add a sticker if you want
Step five: Be prepared to get another gift from a different trainer and that can also help with your Vivillon completion. It's important to note that you can only trade gifts with Mateo once a day.
