Tactics to defeat Human Bosses in Metaphor ReFantazio

In Metaphor ReFantazio, you will encounter a variety of enemies, including bosses such as Humans. These bosses have their own strengths and weaknesses, so if you wish to defeat them, then here are some strategies.

Tactics to defeat Homo Gorleo

In the prologue, you will encounter this first opponent, and the game will offer you some tips on how to defeat it. Because of its vulnerability to Wind damage at the wing and leg level, it is advised to utilize Dei with the archetype to heal yourself while using Cyc to deal damage.

Homo Fulquilo

In the northern mines, you will also encounter the Homo Fulquilo during the prologue. The Protagonist should be equipped with the Mage archetype in order to utilize the Blizz spell, as he is susceptible to Ice damage. In order to destroy him quickly, leave Strohl as a Warrior and support him with Grius, who is also equipped with the Mage archetype. It should be noted that the Explorer archetype is not harmed by the Cyr spell, which makes this useless.

Homo Avades

You will have to deal with this level 20 boss during the mainstory. The following are the areas of his body that you can strike, along with their respective vulnerabilities and resistances:

- Resistance to the elements Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind and Light

- Left and Right Hands: Piercing and Fire damage

- Shell: bludgeoning damage

In the fight, use the Bot spell on the hands by equipping the Protagonist with the Mage class. Then, attack with the Perfect Fist by selecting the Fighter role on Strohl or Hulkenberg to hit the Shell and the Knight role on Strohl or Hulkenberg to be the target of the boss's attacks and deal piercing damage.

Tactics, Defeat Human Bosses, Metaphor ReFantazio

Homo Jaluzo

This boss is quite annoying due to his ability to stun you and do a significant amount of damage. Regarding the formation, we suggest the following:

Protagonist - Magic Seeker to heal and remove the effects of Homo Jaluzo's attacks

Strohl - Swordmaster / Warrior to activate Synthesis skills for other party members when you are not supporting the rest of your party

Hulkenberg - Magic Knight / Knight to heal effects on allies, but also to draw the boss's attention to you

Heismay - Thief to debuff the boss and it is very important that he does it regularly in order to be able to inflict maximum damage

He will only fully regenerate once throughout the fight, which is rather usual. Don't freak out; instead, keep using debuffs and hitting the boss with Strohl, Hulkenberg, and Heismay while the protagonist helps the other members of the team.

Homo Sabara

This boss' primary vulnerability is Lightning, given that it attack you from the water. Pick a team that specializes in this elemental damage, such as two Mages, a Pugilist to undermine the Homo Sabra's resistance, and a Masked Dancer to leverage the Fire vulnerability on this boss. When it comes to healing, utilize potions mostly, but if that isn't feasible, choose a healer or a class that can heal your team.

Homo Margo

The Wind element is Homo Margo's one significant vulnerability. He resists slicing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage and is immune to Light and Dark attacks. To beat him, we suggest the following team:

Protagonist - Merchant to spam spells without using mana, but rather money

Eupha - Summoner to have extra units to deal damage to the boss

Hulkenberg - General / Commander to buff your party members

Heismay - Thief to debuff the boss and it is very important that he does it regularly in order to be able to inflict maximum damage

Homo Pento

The Trial of Malnova is a side quest that will lead you to this fight, which is optional. It is weak to Fire damage and you can equip three characters that can do damage of this kind, including the Summoner, the Masked Dancer, or the Mage and its evolutions. But it will be interesting to have at least one debuffer and a healer in case of necessity.

Why do humans look like this in Metaphor ReFantazio?

Let me start by warning you that the following contains plot spoilers. As the game progresses, you will learn more about the humans and tribes that formerly dominated the planet before going extinct because of a war. With the exception of the Elda tribe and the distorted animals we encounter in the game, mankind has not truly vanished since the tribes are "mutations" that were produced after experimentation to attempt to win this conflict and humans.

We find that these Humans, also known as Homo, are mutations gone horribly wrong. Note that Hieronymus Bosch's artwork The Garden of Earthly Delights, which depicts weird creatures that essentially resemble the monsters in Metaphor ReFantazio, served as the inspiration for the Human bosses.
