Act 2 of Arcane Season 2 finally dropped this past Saturday, November 16, and it’s safe to say that the plot twists are hitting harder than ever. The latest episode, Episode 6, brought us to the edge of our seats as two of the series' most intriguing and tragic characters, Viktor and Isha, seemed to meet their fates in a catastrophic turn of events. But are they really dead? Or is there still hope for them in the upcoming Act 3?
Let’s break down their tragic moments and dive into the theories about what’s next for these characters.
Viktor's Fate: A Shocking Betrayal
In a scene that left fans gasping, Viktor, one of Arcane’s most complex and morally ambiguous characters, is struck down by none other than Jayce in a brutal confrontation. With his new weapon in hand, Jayce delivers a devastating blow to Viktor, leaving him seemingly mortally wounded. For a character who has spent so much time in the series striving to improve Piltover’s future through his inventions, it’s a gut-wrenching moment of betrayal—especially since it comes from Jayce, once his closest ally.
But here’s where things get murky. Just because Viktor has been struck down doesn’t necessarily mean he’s out for good. Arcane has already shown us that death in this world is rarely final. Viktor's deteriorating health has been a major plot point throughout the series, and his willingness to sacrifice his humanity for scientific advancement has always been a cornerstone of his character.
What if there’s still a way for him to survive? Enter Singed, the mad scientist, and longtime ally of Viktor. Singed has hinted at his obsession with regeneration and is well-versed in the dark art of bioengineering. He could very well see Viktor’s plight as the perfect opportunity to experiment with the very thing he’s been studying: bringing life back to the dead. With his expertise, it’s possible that Singed could use the regenerative powers of Vander (now transformed into Warwick) to heal Viktor, either by grafting parts of Warwick’s own regenerative biology onto Viktor or some other twisted method.
The question is, will Viktor be the same person after such an ordeal? Could Singed’s experiments turn Viktor into something more monstrous, or will he retain his humanity in the process? Act 3 might hold the answer to these unsettling possibilities.
Isha’s Explosive Fate: Is Baby Jinx Done For?
Then there’s Isha, who faces an equally tragic and dangerous fate. In Episode 6, Isha, attempting to stop the chaos unleashed by Jinx, takes drastic action by overloading Jinx’s weapon with not one but three hextech crystals. The resulting explosion is nothing short of catastrophic, and we’re left with the haunting possibility that Isha—once a hopeful figure—might not survive the blast.
It’s a brutal moment, especially when you consider the bond Isha has with Jinx. Her actions were meant to protect her daughter from further devastation, but in doing so, she sealed her own fate—or so it seems. However, like Viktor, Isha’s survival is not a foregone conclusion. Could Viktor, who has expertise in hextech and the manipulation of such powerful energy, be the one to save her? Or will Singed, whose capabilities extend far beyond traditional science, find a way to bring Isha back from the brink?
The idea of Viktor saving Isha would tie together some of the core themes of the show: sacrifice, redemption, and the lengths people will go to save those they care about. However, given the series' propensity to deliver gut-punch moments, it’s equally possible that Isha’s fate is sealed—and that the explosion was a tragic final act that will forever alter Jinx’s already fragile psyche.
What’s Next for Viktor and Isha in Act 3?
With Act 3 of Arcane Season 2 releasing next week, the big question remains: Are Viktor and Isha truly gone? While the show has repeatedly shown that death is not always permanent (just look at Vander becoming Warwick), the consequences of these violent acts seem too heavy to ignore. Viktor’s slow physical decline due to his illness and his strained relationship with Jayce have painted him as a tragic figure, and Isha’s desperate attempts to protect Jinx seem to echo the doomed nature of sacrifice.
Riot Games has been clear that just because a character is a League of Legends champion doesn’t mean they can’t die, and the stakes are undeniably high. Could Viktor and Isha both meet their end in Act 3? Or are their stories far from over?
We’ll have to wait until next week to find out, but one thing is for sure: the drama and emotional depth of Arcane will continue to captivate us until the very last frame.
